Gethsemane Cemetery and St. Mary’s Cemetery is pleased to announce that Mrs. Kemberly Soria will be succeeding Mr. Timothy Kolasa as the Executive Director of both cemeteries. At 26 years old, Mrs. Soria will be the youngest Executive Director of any cemetery operation in Pennsylvania and the first woman in this position.

Mrs. Soria will assume the onsite leadership role of Berks County only two Catholic Cemeteries and comes highly endorsed by Mr. Kolasa who oversaw the management of the cemeteries for the past 2+ decades. “Gethsemane Cemetery and St. Mary’s Cemetery have been a large part of my life and close to my heart for 35 years, and I would not have left without having someone like Kemberly waiting in the wings to take on the opportunities and challenges that the cemeteries will face in the coming years” said Kolasa. “Kemberly has shown herself to understand the big picture of what’s involved in the day-to-day management while having the needed experience in all aspects of the administration function. I’m thrilled that Kemberly agreed to take on this position and will be directing the growth of both cemeteries for the coming years.”

Monsignor Grabish, priest of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church who oversees the operation for both cemeteries agree. “We’re very happy that Kemberly will now be assuming leadership of these special cemeteries. Throughout her tenure, Kemberly has shown herself to be in tuned with our family’s needs, especially those who are Spanish speaking and I know that our families will continue to be blessed by the way she will guide the cemeteries forward. With her extensive experience in managing cemetery operations and a strong commitment to our mission, Kemberly is a perfect fit for her new role. That said, we can’t thank Tim enough for his dedication in transforming and directing the cemeteries. We wish him much success.”
Mrs. Soria, a parishioner at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, sees her new role and responsibilities as a commitment to serving families with compassion and integrity, while strengthening community connections through thoughtful leadership.
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to embrace this new chapter and lead with purpose. At Gethsemane Cemetery, we are all committed to walking alongside families with compassion, while deepening our role in the community through meaningful experiences, education, and support.”
